The 14th International Conference on Waste Management and Technology was successfully held in Beijing,China

On 22th March, 2019, the 14th International Conference on Waste Management and Technology (ICWMT 14) opened at the Four Seasons Royal Garden Hotel in Beijing, China. More than 400 representatives from more than 20 countries and regions attended the conference.
The conference was host by Tsinghua University. Solid Waste and Chemical Management Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, UNEP, and the Stockholm Convention Regional Centre for Capacity Building and the Transfer of Technology in Asia and the Pacific, Organized by the Basel Convention Center for Asia and the Pacific (BCRC China), Solid Waste Branch of Chinese society for Environmental Science, ICWMT14got support from the United Nations regional development Centre (UNCRD), Frontiers of Environmental Science and Engineering, and Waste Management Research as well. More than 80 government officials, experts and scholars from domestic and abroad invited to presentations on no-waste city management and practice, waste plastic and Marine litter management, electrical and electronic waste recycling and pollution control, regional waste and chemical management laws and regulations typical waste treatment and disposal technologies, solid waste management strategies and approaches and so on.
ICWMT14 also organized ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of adopting the Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movement of Hazardous Waste and their Disposal (the Basel Convention) with the overarching objective of the Basel Convention is to protect human health and the environment against the adverse effects of hazardous wastes.
