BCRC Asia-Pacific Successfully Held the "Zero-Waste City" Forum on Construction,Management and Practice

On November 22, with the 17th International Conference on Solid Waste Management and Technology, the Tsinghua University/Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific (BCRCAP) held an online forum on "zero-waste city" construction, management and practice. With the theme of "Sustainable Municipal Solid Waste Management", representatives from nine international and domestic cities were invited to share their experiences online. The conference was attended by 22 delegates. The presentation session was divided into three parts, with groups of three cities or regions, and experts discussing the issues and experiences of municipal solid waste management. The conference started with a presentation on the progress of the International Network of Waste-Free Cities (INWC), followed by presentations by environmental management officials from the Basel and Stockholm Convention Regional Centres in Iran, Wellington, New Zealand, Minamata, Japan, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Suzhou, China, Sanya, Rivera, Uruguay, Cerro Largo, and Montreal, Canada, who shared their experiences in building a "zero-waste city". The officials from the environmental management departments of the cities of Minamata, Cambodia, Suzhou, Sanya, Rivera, Uruguay, Cerro Largo and Montreal shared their experiences in the construction of "zero waste city".
