From February 7 to 9, the supplementary meeting of the second online meeting of the small intersessional working group (SIWG) on the revision of the "technical guidelines for the environmentally sound management of plastic wastes" (hereinafter referred to as "technical guidelines") was successfully held. The meeting was organized by the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions, and more than 40 members and observers of the working group attended the meeting. China, Japan and the United Kingdom are the lead countries for the revision of the technical guidelines. Zhao Nana, assistant director of BCRC China, as the representative of the Chinese government, is jointly responsible for the revision of the technical guidelines with the representatives of Japan and the United Kingdom, and co-chaired the online meeting with the representatives of Japan and the United Kingdom. The meeting focused on the in-depth discussion and exchange of the issues to be determined in the technical guidelines in the previous meeting, and determined the next action plan.
