Project duration：01 /01 /2021 to 31 /12 /2022

Target: The targets of the project are to provide basic materials and technical support for the delegation of Chinese government to participate in the negotiations on the implementation of the Basel Convention and Stockholm Convention; to promote the domestic publicity and transformation of the BC&SC and strengthening the capacity-building of implementing the BC&SC in China; to strengthen the regional development research on BC&SC and promote influence in the field of regional waste management of China.

Activities: The activities include providing basic materials and technical support for the delegation of Chinese government to participate in COP15 and OEWG12, and send representatives to attend the meetings; continuously tracing the developments and latest implementation information of the BC&SC, preparing and sending dynamic information briefings (Chinese version) and international newsletter (English version); compiling reports on the implementation of the Basel Convention in China from 2021 to 2022; comparing research on international plastic pollution control; preparing a analysis report on sustainable development as a regional center of Basel Convention.

Main outcomes: BCRC-SCRC China completed the support for the delegation of Chinese government to participate in COP15 and BC-OEWG12 and related materials preparing and writing; 23 of dynamic information briefings (Chinese version) and 23 of international newsletters (English version); two reports on the implementation of the Basel Convention in China in 2021and 2022; a report on regional development on plastic pollution control under Basel Convention, and a report on sustainable development as a regional center of Basel Convention.
