Received DPhil from University of Oxford in 2008, he served as a Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Director of Laboratory Centre of School of Environmental Science and Engineering. He also serves as Associate Editor of the Journal of Energy and Environmental Materials (EEM), member of editorial board for Scientific Reports, an expert in the Chemical and Waste Environmental Management Think Tank of the Basel Convention Asia Pacific Regional Centre. He has been engaged in solid waste utilization and pollution control research for a long time. He chaired a national key research and development project, NSFC fund, Hubei provincial funds key projects, and undertake the Ministry of Science and Technology Youth 973 project, published more than 130 SCI papers, H factor 32.
