Dr. Xiujin Li, Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT).
He received his Ph.D degree from China Agricultural University (CAU) in 1998. After that, he continued his research at University of California at Davis (UCD) as a post-doctoral associate until the end of 2000. He then joined BUCT as an assistant professor and later professor.
His main research interest is solid waste treatment and reutilization with emphasis on biological conversion of biomass wastes into bioenergy and bioproducts. He was principle investigator for dozens of research projects, including State Hi-tech. R&D project (“863”), State Twelfth Five-year Key Project of Science and Technology, and other projects from the Environmental Protection Ministry etc.. He published over 300 papers, and received 6 awards, including one second-class state prize of science and technology progress.
He currently serves as vice president of Alliance of China Biomass and Gas Technology Innovation, vice director of Solid Waste Management Subcommittee of China Environmental Sciences, and executive director of China Biogas Association.
