On June 29, 2023, the Ministry of Commerce of China held the 2023 Annual Consultation Meeting Sino-Norwegian Development Cooperation in Beijing. Dr. Chen Yuan, Director of the Regional Chemicals Management Division of BCRC China/SCRCAP, and Ms. Liu Sifan, Programme Officer, attended the meeting. Nearly 20 representatives from the Norwegian Embassy in China, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) of China, the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center of MEE, and al et, were present at the meeting. During the meeting, the project partners introduced their respective project progress, and the Norwegian Embassy provided feedback and introduced the follow-up budget and new project plans for Sino-Norwegian cooperation projects. Then, the MEE and the embassy respectively elaborated on the priority cooperation areas for Sino-Norwegian cooperation. Dr. Chen Yuan introduced the Sino-Norwegian cooperation project on marine plastic waste and microplastic management capacity building, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2023. The Minister Counsellor of Norwegian Embassy appreciated the positive evaluation of the project's final evaluation report and expressed great anticipation for receiving the project proposal for the second phase.
