On December 7, 2023, Tsinghua University/Basel and Stockholm Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific(TU/BCRC/SCRC China) successfully passed the acceptance of the project "Study on the Changing Trend of Disposable Plastic Packaging in China", which was undertaken by the Green Mountain Public Welfare Special Fund of the China Environmental Protection Foundation (CEPF). The project explored the current situation and challenges of disposable plastic packaging in China in the context of the global plastics convention negotiations, analyzed the effectiveness of environmentally sound management of disposable plastic packaging, summarized international policies and corporate cases on eco-design of plastic packaging, assessed the feasibility of statistical methods for disposable plastic product usage in China, and put forward suggestions for the control and management of disposable plastic packaging on this basis.
