In order to establish relationship between different countries and enterprises, and promote technical assistance and technology transfer in Asia and the Pacific region, Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific/Stockholm Convention Regional Centre for Capacity-building and the Transfer of Technology in Asia and the Pacific (BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP) initiates Public Private Partnership for Chemical and Hazardous Wastes Technical Assistance and Technology Transfer, to build the platform on technology assistance and technology transfer in Asia and the Pacific by coordinating regional Parties and enterprises, and promote the implementation of Basel Convention and Stockholm Convention in the region.

Launching Unit: Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific/Stockholm Convention Regional Centre for Capacity-building and the Transfer of Technology in Asia and the Pacific (BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP)

•    Provide information exchange platform of technology transfer for Parties and Enterprises, coordinate and facilitate communication related to the technical assistance and technology transfer;

•    Update the platform contents or held workshop timely according to the supply and demand information of member units;

•    Carry out counseling service to facilitate the technical assistance and technology transfer between Parties and Enterprises, to strengthen capacity building in Parties to plan and implement transferred technologies; and

•    Participate in and supervise the activities of technical assistance and technology transfer between Parties and Enterprises, and provide technology assessment and other necessary assistance.

Demand side: Participating Parties

•    Participate in the technology transfer platform of BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP, accept BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP as the medium of technical assistance and technology transfer;

•    Give feedback the technology and facility needs related to chemical and waste management to BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP termly;

•    Identify and prioritize technologies that can contribute to the adaptation of chemical and waste management goals of the country, and give priority to accept the technical assistance based on national need from the Member Enterprises introduced by BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP, and offer connection and necessary assistance to the technology transfer;

•    Identify barriers hindering the acquisition of prioritized technologies and develop a mechanism to overcome those barriers and facilitate adoption of selected technologies in consultation with BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP;

•    Subject to supervision by BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP during the activities with the Member Enterprises during technology consultation and transfer.

Supply Side: Participating Enterprises

•    Participate in the technology transfer platform of BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP, accept BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP as the medium of technical assistance and technology transfer;

•    Feedback the technology and facility advance related to chemical and waste to BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP termly;

•    Carry out technology consulting, assistance and transfer to Parties based on the recommends of BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP;

•    Subject to supervision by BCRC Beijing/SCRCAP during the activities of technical assistance and technology transfer.
