According to the statement of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of Macedonia, manufacturers and importers of electrical electronic equipment in Macedonia will have to organize collective or individual waste management by the end of the year. The Law on the management of electrical and electronic equipment waste was adopted in January 2013 and applies from January 2014. The manufacturers and importers of electrical electronic equipment (95 percent are importers) have an obligation to register with the Ministry and, based on this register, producers will have to pay a charge for the products that are manufactured or imported in Macedonia.
