1st Training Workshop for Environmental Officers on Supervisions of Disposal Facilities of Hazardous Waste in Shanghai, China, 2016

The 1st training workshop in 2016 for environmental officers on supervision of disposal facilities of hazardous waste was held on July 25-29 in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, China. This training workshop was hosted by Department of Soil Environment Management, Ministry of Environmental Protection of China, and organized by BCRC China in cooperation with SCIP SITA Waste Services Company Ltd (Shanghai, China), aimed to improve the knowledge and practical ability of local environmental officers on supervision of incineration disposal facilities of hazardous waste. Total 25 participants of local solid waste management departments and environmental supervision centers of east-central China attended this workshop.

  

Yuqiang Liu, associate researcher from Department of Soil Environment Management, Ministry of Environmental Protection of China, and Mr. Rui Bei, general manager of SCIP SITA Waste Services Company Ltd. attended the workshop and presented speeches respectively. In this training workshop, representative of Department of Soil Environment Management, Ministry of Environmental Protection of China detailed introduced the work and key task of hazardous waste management of Thirteenth Fifth year in China, and expressed the hope that the local representatives should cherish the training opportunity and attempt to improve their supervision level. Qi Wang, director of Solid Waste Pollution Control Technology Research Institute, Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, taught the pollution control technology of hazardous waste incineration. Shaolin Wu of Shanghai Solid Waste Management Center introduced hazardous waste management in Shanghai, China, and communicated with the participants from local provinces.

Through the training workshop, the incineration disposal facilities of hazardous waste was visited, the key links and factors on hazardous waste management and supervision of the whole operation process of the hazardous waste incineration disposal facilities, such as transportation, storage, laboratory analysis, emissions, and etc. have been introduced, and the information on supervision idea of hazardous waste has been exchanged. Up to now, this training has hold 5 workshops and trained total 112 participants of local solid waste management departments. This training workshop was appreciated of ability enhancement by most of representatives.
