Incentives For Environmental Management such as Incentive For Waste Recycling Activity in the form of 60% - 100% tax exemption. has been provided by the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority.
Malaysia Investment Development Authority provides incentives for Environmental Management that encompasses : (a) Incentives for the Storage, treatment and Disposal of Toxic and Hazardous Waste (b) Incentives for Waste Recycling Activities (c) Incentives for Energy Conservation (d) Incentive for Energy Generation Activities Using Renewable Energy Resources (e) Incentives for Generation of Renewable Energy for own consumption (f) Tax incentive for Building Obtaining Green Building Index Certificate (g) Accelerated Capital Allowance for Environmental Management.
Measures taken by industries/waste generators
The number of treatment and disposal facilities has increased to cater the need of industries to recover, treat and dispose of the wastes.
Kualiti Alam Sdn. Bhd. and Triniekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd,, the two private integrated facilities for the treatment and disposal of hazardous waste are in operation at their full capacity.
