The 8th International Conference on Waste Management and Technology was held in Shanghai on October 23-25, 2013. Totally more than 500 delegates from 28 countries and regions who were in research institutes, enterprises and government departments attended the conference. In line with the spirit of "Maximize Recycling of Waste, Protect the Environment, Promote the Construction of Ecological Civilization", the theme of ICWMT8 is "Towards Ecological Civilization". Ltd, China Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance for Resources Recycling Industry, Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Research Institute of Solid Waste Management, and Stockholm Convention Regional Centre for Capacity-building and the Transfer of Technology in Asia and the Pacific, and organized by Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, Society of Solid Waste of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, Shanghai Xin Jinqiao Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. and State Environmental Protection Engineering Center for the Recycle Informatization and Treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
