On June 23, 2020, the Sino-Norwegian Environmental Cooperation Coordinators' Meeting was held online, attended by representatives and experts of relevant departments and bureaus from environmental authorities of China and Norway. Mr. Guo Jing, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Ecology and Environment of People's Republic of China and Ms. Ingvild Andreassen Sæverud, Director of the Department of Climate and change, Ministry of Climate and Environment of Norway chaired the meeting and delivered the opening remarks. Representatives of the two sides exchanged views on the progress of environmental protection, biodiversity protection and COP15 preparatory process, addressing climate change process and COP26 prospect, marine litter management process and other topics, and reported on the progress of six Sino-Norwegian cooperation projects under development. Prof. Li Jinhui, executive director of BCRC China, reported the main content and implementation progress of the Sino-Norwegian cooperation project on capacity building for reducing plastic and microplastic pollution (SINOPLAST). Dr. Chen Yuan, chief of the Regional Chemicals Management Office, and Ms. Liu Sifan, technical assistant from BCRC China, also attended the meeting.
