2021年6月8日是“世界海洋日”，挪威驻北京大使馆与北京能源网络在北京联合组织了预防海洋塑料垃圾宣传活动。挪威气候与环境部副部长Ms. Maren Hersleth Holsen在线致开幕辞, 北欧海洋观察代表Simen Knudsen先生播放了打捞海洋塑料垃圾的视频。此外，活动还组织了圆桌讨论，受邀专家包括瑞典驻华大使馆创新与科学参赞Nannan Lundin女士、WWF中国的王瑛女士、挪资企业陶朗分选技术有限公司的常新杰先生。作为“中挪合作-海洋废塑料与微塑管理能力建设项目”实施的中方牵头单位，巴塞尔公约亚太区域中心（简称“亚太中心”）受邀参加了该活动。
On World Ocean Day, June 8, 2021, the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing hosted an event for prevention of marine plastic litter jointly with Beijing Energy Network. Norwegian Vice Minister for Climate and Environment, Ms. Maren Hersleth Holsen delivered an opening speech online. Mr. Simen Knusen from Nordic Ocean Watch showed a video that recorded the organization’s work in collecting marine plastic litter. A roundtable discussion was also hosted with the event. The discussion invited Dr. Nannan Lundin, Head of Section for Science and Innovation at the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing; Ms. Amy Wang, Program Manager of WWF China’s No Plastic in Nature Program; and Mr. Jet Chang, Vice President, Circular Economy, of Tomra to participate as experts. Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific/ Stockholm Convention Regional Centre for Capacity-building and the Transfer of Technology in Asia and the Pacific (BCRC China/ SCRCAP) attended the event as the leader of the Chinese side of Sino-Norwegian cooperation project on capacity building for reducing plastic and microplastic pollution (SINOPLAST).
