On November 26, 2025, the European Union (EU) published Regulation (EU) 2025/2365, the "Regulation on Preventing Plastic Pellet Loss to Reduce Microplastic Pollution." This regulation applies to economic operators handling plastic pellets in the Union in quantities equal to or above a threshold of 5 tonnes in the previous calendar year, operators engaged in container cleaning, carriers transporting plastic pellets within the EU, and relevant parties involved in maritime transport.
