Philippines Completes Final Field Testing of Marine Litter Monitoring Manual
2026年3月1日，菲律宾环境管理局（EMB）宣布，根据《国家海洋垃圾行动计划》，已于2月23日至3月1日在巴丹省和邦阿西楠省完成《海洋垃圾监测与评估统一手册（草案）》的最终实地测试。测试由EMB联合区域机构及菲律宾海岸警卫队开展，重点验证手册的科学性与可操作性。期间，技术团队在海滩、河流、红树林及近海水域开展多场景监测，并通过数字化系统采集数据。EMB表示，相关成果将用于完善国家统一监测方法体系，为海洋垃圾治理政策提供科学支撑。
On March 1, 2026, the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) of the Philippines announced the completion of the final field testing of the Draft Harmonized Monitoring Manual for Marine Litter Survey and Assessment. The testing was conducted from February 23 to March 1 in Bataan and Pangasinan, in line with the National Plan of Action for Marine Litter. The activity was carried out by EMB in collaboration with regional offices and the Philippine Coast Guard, focusing on validating the manual’s scientific robustness and practical applicability. During the testing, technical teams conducted multi-environment monitoring across beaches, rivers, mangroves, and coastal waters, supported by digital data collection tools. EMB noted that the results will support the development of a unified national monitoring framework and provide a scientific basis for marine litter management policies.
