On March 18th, The Government of Albert announced that Albert will be starting its Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program on April 1, moving the cost of recycling printed paper and packaging back to the producers. The program is set to take effect for every residential recycling program in the province. The Alberta Recycling Management Authority has selected Circular Materials to administer the EPR.
The EPR program does not impact apartments and condo complexes that chose to opt out of the recycling collection program. Starting next month, residents in Alberta, Canada will save money when it comes to curbside recycling.
