On May 29, Bristol Waste has officially opened its newest Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located on the company’s Avonmouth, England site, which will have a significant recycling impact in the area. The £5 million MRF from Bristol Waste can handle six tonnes of plastic, cans, and cardboard an hour, which will go a long way to reducing waste in landfills and seeing more products made from recycled materials. This will also help the city of Bristol rely less on unused raw materials and cut carbon emissions. The facility, standing at 23350 square feet, will process business and household waste. The new facility will provide a significant increase in capacity for processing, including sorting and baling.
