Consultative Meeting of Suzhou Public Private Partnership for E-waste Collection and Coordinating Meeting of Suzhou Public Private Partnership for E-waste Collection, sponsored by Basel Convention Coordinating Centre in Asia and the Pacific (BCRC China), were held on 13^th April 2011 in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. More than 70 participants from the academic community and the enterprises attended this meeting. This meeting was a part of UNEP project “Pilot Project on Public Private Partnership for E-waste Collection”, aiming at establishing a platform on public private partnership for e-waste collection, formulating the e-waste stream flowing to the enterprise with dismantle and treatment qualifications, and controlling the e-waste stream flow from the producing source and reducing environmental pollution.

In the consultative meeting, the experts made speeches on the schemes of management policies and treatment practices of e-waste and development of Suzhou public private partnership for e-waste collection, and discussed the development plan and implementation scheme of partnership.

In the coordinative meeting, delegates from BCRC China, Bureau of Environmental Protection Suzhou, enterprises of e-waste generation and e-waste treatment gave reports on their relative situations on the e-waste management and treatment. Meanwhile, the signature ceremony of “Volunteer and Commitment Letter on Public Private Partnership for E-waste Collection” was carried out by the delegates from BCRC China, 21 e-waste generation enterprises and 5 e-waste treatment enterprises. All the delegates promised undertaking own related responsibilities, promoting regulated recycle and treatment of e-waste generated by enterprises together, and ruling the network of e-waste collection and utilization.

These two meetings had great importance at impulsing green flow, treatment, and management of e-waste in Suzhou City, and also created great foundation on future developments and activities on public private partnership for e-waste collection.
