BCRC China Participated in the Resumed 5th UN Environment Assembly

The Resumed 5th UN Environment Assembly concluded on 2 March 2022 with 14 resolutions to strengthen actions for nature to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. The conference was held online and offline. The on-site meeting was held at the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Professor Li Jinhui, executive director of BCRC China, Ms. Zhao Nana, Dr. Chen Yuan, and Dr. Tan Quanyin, attended the meeting as members of the Chinese government delegation to provide technical support for the consultation on a number of topics such as the legally binding international agreement on plastic pollution, the Expert Committee on chemicals, waste and pollution prevention, and the sound management of chemicals and wastes. The Assembly is composed of the 193 UN Member States and convenes every two years to advance global environmental governance.
