From March 27 to 29, 2022, the regional preparatory meeting for the face-to-face segment of the 2021/2022 COPs for the Asia-Pacific region was held in Bali, Indonesia. The meeting was organized by Basel, Rotterdam and the Stockholm convention secretariat, and coorganized by Basel convention regional center for Southeast Asia. Photos from BCRC China More than 100 representatives from parties, regional centers and nongovernmental organizations in the Asia-Pacific region attended the meeting. The objective of the Regional Preparatory meeting was to give parties within the Asia-Pacific region the possibility to consult each other in advance of the 2022 COPs, including reviewing pre-conference documents and meeting arrangements, discussing important issues, and identifying regional strengths and challenges. Ms. Chen Yuan and Mr. Dong Qingyin, participated online as members of the Chinese delegation, and representatives of BCRC China participated online as observers.
