With the development of society and economy and improvement of people's lives, more and more electronic products will be scraped at the end of their useful life, and others will be discarded because their function cannot meet the requirements of people. Electronic products contains many toxic and hazardous substances, including heavy metals, halogenated flame retardants, CFCs and so on. For the prevention of environmental pollution, electronic products must be proper handled and disposed. There are also many recoverable resources in electronic products, such as plastic, iron, non-ferrous metals and so on, which are of high recycling value. For the environmentally sound treatment of waste electronic products (e-waste) and recycling the valuable resources, e-waste treatment and utilization complete technology was developed based on many basic researches, then demonstration projects were carried out. Removable treatment facilities for waste monitors and waste PCBs are designed taking the features into consideration that some cities and regions are of small size and low e-waste generation, and relevant demonstration projects were carried out too.

Demonstration project of mobile e-waste recycling equipment for typical e-waste treatment

Mobile e-waste recycling equipment for waste monitors and PCBs treatment are designed, built and demonstrated in the project. The Mobile e-waste recycling equipment for waste monitors is based on the research achievements of the state key laboratory and it is built for the practical application in a demonstration project. It’s an integrated system for waste monitors efficient treatment, several functions are included, such as dismantling of monitors and computer mainframe, separation to CRT screen and cone glass, crushing and washing of cone glass. The mobile e-waste recycling equipment for waste PCBs highly integrated the process of waste PCBs dismantling - magnetic separation - multistage winnowing - electrostatic separation. It can recycling waste PCBs efficiently, and achieves the goal of improving the environmental quality of recycling process. The two sets of facilities are of high degree integration of typical e-waste treatment equipment, the capacity of computer mainframe, monitors, PCBs is 48,000 units/year, 14,400 units/year, 360 ton/year, which can meet the treatment needs of typical e-waste, computer and TVs, from social source.

 
 
    

Demonstration of packaged technology project for resource utilization of E-waste

Through the development of typical electronic waste treatment of new devices, new equipment and new processes, complete packages of electronic waste treatment and resource utilization demonstration projects, including standard disassembly demonstration line, PCB processing demonstration line, CRT panel glass and cone glass mechanical separation equipment and CRT glass recycling technology demonstration line, waste LCD monitor processing demonstration line, waste lithium battery recycling demonstration device . The degree of automation and mechanization of the computer disassembly and classification process in the demonstration project reaches more than 50%, and the disassembly and classification process does not produce secondary environmental pollution; the separation of metal and non-metal in waste printed circuit boards with particle size above 1mm is realized, and the recovery rate of major metals reaches more than 90%, and the metal grade reaches more than 90%; the regeneration utilization rate of renewable polymer materials in the disassembly residues reaches more than 90%, and the rest Solid waste is resourceful and properly disposed of.
