From July 31 to September 11, 2019, the Inter-Ministerial Coordination Group Office of the “Zero Waste City” Construction Pilot have reviewed the implementation plansof “11+5” pilot cities and regions. As a member of the “ Zero Waste City” Pilot Consultation Expert Committee, Professor Jinhui Li, Executive Director of BCRC China, participated in the expert review meetings of the pilot implementation plan for 13 cities. Also as theleader of“ZeroWaste City” Pilot Technical Assistance Working Group (Group 1) of Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Professor Li Jinhui presided the expert review meetings of the implementation plans of Shenzhen City and Xiongan New Area. Besides, as expert members of the Technical Assistance Working Groups, Associate Professor Lili Liu and Assistant Director Nana Zhao of BCRC China were invited to participate in the “Zero Waste City” pilot consultation implementation plans’ pre-assessment meetings of Tongling City, Chongqing City, Weihai City, Xuchang City, and Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City.
At the same time, as the compilation unit for the “ Zero Waste City” pilot consultation implementation plans of Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, Baotou City of Inner Mongolia, and Sanya City of Hainan Province, BCRC China has done a lot of work and set up special research teams to be responsible for the implementation of the three pilots. In the preparation of the program, they went to the pilot cities several times to conduct on-site investigations and departmental discussions, and dispatchedthe staffs to station in the local areas. All the “Zero Waste City” pilot consultation implementation plans of the three pilots were successfully passed the expert review meetings on September 4, September 5 and September10.
