The International Conference on Waste Management and Technology (ICWMT) is an important platform for experts and officials to discuss scientific problems related to solid waste management, exchange knowledge, and seek innovative solutions. Initiated by the Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific and approved by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China, ICWMT has been held 15 times since its inaugural meeting in 2005. The 15^th International Conference on Waste Management and Technology with the theme of " Building a Zero-Waste City Systematically " was successfully held online in 2020.The conference attracted 188 experts and scholars from 42 countries and regions were invited to make speech. In total, 4563 participants attended the conference.

The 16^th International Conference on Solid Waste Management and Technology (ICWMT16) will be held in Beijing, China from June 25 to 28, 2021. The theme of this year’s conference is “Building Zero-waste Cities Progressively”. Throughout the conference, prominent researchers and government officials will give keynote speeches on pressing issues of solid waste management, chemicals, and circular economy. Call for Papers

ICWMT 16 welcomes papers and presentations related to the following topics:

 Hazardous waste management and risk prevention;

 Biomass waste treatment and utilization as resources and energy;

 Household refuse classification and disposal technology;

 Integrated utilization of industrial solid waste;

 Construction waste disposal and utilization as resource and energy;

 E-waste recycling and associated pollution control;

 Management of chemicals and related regional policy;

 Remediation and regulation of contaminated sites;

 Circular economy and urban mining.

Paper Selection

Please submit the abstracts and full papers to the icwmt@tsinghua.edu.cn before the corresponding deadlines, listed above. Accepted papers will be complied into the “Proceedings of the Sixteenth International Conference on Waste Management and Technology”. Selected outstanding papers will be recommended to conference supporting journals, including Resources, Conservation & Recycling (IF: 8.086), Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering (IF: 4.053), Resources, Environment
and Sustainability (Open Access), and Sustainability (Open Access). The authors of the selected outstanding papers will be presented with awards by the members of the steering committee. We look forward to your contributions.

Oral report

The conference organize Students Forum and Young Scholars Forum. Authors of outstanding papers selected by experts will have the opportunity to present their papers and research results in the forums by oral presentation.

Language

English is the official language of the conference and simultaneous interpretation will be arranged during the plenary session of the conference.
