From June 29 to July 13, 2026, the International Training on "Zero-waste City" Construction and High-quality Development along "the Belt and Road" was convened in Beijing, Shanghai, and Suzhou, China. The training was sponsored by the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, hosted by Tsinghua University, and co-organized by BCRC China, Shanghai Polytechnic University and the Belt and Road Initiative International Green Development Coalition.
The training course invited a total of 20 representatives from government departments and related institutions in charge of solid waste management from 12 countries, including Myanmar, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Laos, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Brazil. On June 29, Mr. Zhang Long, Deputy Director of the Solid Waste Division of the Department of Solid Waste and Chemicals, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China and Mr. Tan Quanyin from Tsinghua University, Chief of General Office of BCRC China attended the opening ceremony and delivered welcome speeches.
