Academician Seeram Ramakrishna, FREng, Everest Chair is a world-renowned professor of cross-field at the National University of Singapore. He is a leading voice in Singapore’s sustainability development advocacy. He is a chartered engineer (Sustainability), IES Singapore. He is the Chief Editor of the Springer NATURE Journal Materials Circular Economy ; Associate Chief Editor of Elsevier Journal Circular Economy Associate Chief Editor of Elsevier Journal Circular Economy; Senior Editor of Biofuel Research Journal and Advisory Board member of NPJ Urban Sustainability journal.He is the Director of Center for Nanotechnology and Sustainability. He is recognized among the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds (Thomson Reuters), and Clarivate Top 1% Highly Cited Researchers since 2014. His publications to date received an H-index of 192 and 185,123 citations (Google Scholar). He is a co-author of an award-winning book An Introduction to Circular Economy, and UNESCO Report Knowledge-driven Actions: Transforming Higher Education for Global Sustainability . He is a point of contact for the Ministry of Sustainability and Environment (MSE) Singapore on the circular economy competency and skillsets. He is a member of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) committee at the Singapore Institute of Directors . He is a member of ISO technical committee on Circular Economy. He is the Dy Chairman of Sustainability Cluster at the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES), and also an advisor to the IES Green Plan 2030. He is a judge committee member for the MIT Technology Review – TR35 Asia Pacific. He is an evaluation panel member for the $3 million Prize by the Alliance to End Plastic Waste; CapitaLand Sustainability X Challenge 2023 ; and Enterprise Singapore evaluation panel for the Startup SG Tech Scheme and Global Innovation Program.
