Dongyun DU is Ph.D., professor, a young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contributions in Hubei Province, master tutor, second-level professor of the School of Resources and Environment, Central South University for Nationalities. The main research direction is pollution control chemistry, using chemical and biological methods to treat pollutants in wastewater and realize the resource treatment of wastewater. In recent ten years, the treatment technology of arsenic and cadmium containing wastewater in sulfuric acid industry has been systematically studied, and a series of technologies for arsenic removal by new lime-iron salt method, new three-stage lime method, new vulcanization method and double calcium method have been developed and realized industrial application. The treatment of high concentration organic wastewater in liquor industry is studied deeply, especially the enhanced nitrogen and phosphorus removal technology. In cooperation with ABT, Italy, he has developed low-cost and cost-effective capacity expansion technologies for existing wastewater treatment plants, with special emphasis on the integration of biotechnology, automatic control technology and environmental chemistry technology. Recently, the research work has been carried out in the recovery of valuable metals such as copper, lead, zinc and nickel from metallurgical waste residues, the safe disposal technology of high-concentration arsenic-containing waste, and the integrated application of comprehensive utilization of large-scale farm waste based on the idea of green energy bank (GDP). In recent years, he has published more than 50 papers in academic journals at home and abroad and won four provincial and ministerial awards.
