Dr. Ya Xu is an associate research fellow in Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) and associate director of Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences Northeast Division (Plan). He is a deputy secretary of First National Hazardous Waste Identification Experts Committee. He is also an expert member of the committee of experts on identification of hazardous waste in shanghai city, Hunan province and other province. He won top ten outstanding youth award in Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences. He is a special journal viewer of Journal of cleaner production, Waste management, Journal of hydrology and others international journals. He has conducted research related to the key science and technology problems of solid waste storage and land disposal long-term service risk control. He has explored the system of theory innovation, technology development, industry application and management as support of diagnosis of facility performance degradation - optimization and control - emergency response. He has won financial support for 7 national and provincial projects (including 3 National Key R&D Program and subitems, 1 National Nature Science Funding item, Yellow River Cooperation Program). He has published high level more than 90 research papers, including 13 top SCI papers as first author. He has published the 33 patents (includes 1 international patent) and published 3 monographs. He serves as editing national industry standard and state council documents such as “10 Rules of Hazardous Waste”, “National Hazardous Waste List” and more than 10 other documents. He has edited 7 policy recommendations documents that have been adopted by Zhongban and Guoban, Ministry of Ecology and Environment. He has won ministerial and provincial-level award 6 times, including second prize twice. He was selected as “Young Talents Program”, “Ten Outstanding Youth”, excellent PhD graduate special award and others in CRAES. In 2021 and 2022, due to outstanding contributions in relevant fields, he/she was awarded the Individual Merit Medal by central level public institutions twice.
