He XU

Professor
He XU is the professor and doctoral supervisor and the vice president of the Ecological Civilization Research Institute at Nankai University. He won the New Century Excellent Talents in University by the Ministry of Education (2010) and "131" scientific and technological talents in Tianjin City. He is the Major project leader (Chief scientist) of the National Social Science Fund of China, AR5 review expert of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Expert Advisory Committee Member of Carbon Emissions and Environmental Big Data Institute of Fudan University, Editor-in-chief of Impact Assessment Review (SSCI&EI Q1). He has been engaged in the research of climate change for a long time, especially in the accounting of carbon emissions, and has carried out a lot of research work. His report "Climate Change Governance in the Context of Globalization" was adopted by the 2016 Summer Davos Forum. He has a steady research foundation in the field of solid waste. He has undertaken three key research and development programs for solid waste recycling and one project on the National Natural Science Foundation. By sorting out the material metabolism laws in the whole process of solid waste recycling, he has built key data calculations and statistical methods. Additionally, he conducted collaborative research on the environmental impact of the whole life cycle, multidimensional performance evaluation, and reduction of pollution and carbon emissions. His research results have been published in several high-level papers in TOP journals such as the Journal of Hazardous Materials, Resource, Conservation & Recycling, Waste Management, etc. He promotes the development of multidimensional performance assessment of solid waste recycling technology and group standards for the assessment of greenhouse gas emission reduction benefits of solid waste recycling.
