Wang Kun is an Associate Research Fellow at the Guangzhou Institute of Geography, Guangdong Academy of Sciences. During 2022, he served as a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong. His research interests include waste geography, political ecology, environmental politics, governance and justices. His research findings have been published in top-tier journals in the fields of geography and urban and regional studies. He has received several international academic honors, including the Ashby Prize 2023 from Environmental and Planning A: Economy and Space for the most innovative paper of the year.
