Professor Sun, National High-level Talent, holds a position as a professor at Hainan University, adjunct professor of Beihang University. She obtained her doctoral degree in engineering from Kyoto University, Japan. Additionally, she serves as the deputy editor of Waste Management, an international authoritative journal in the field of solid waste, and contributes as a member of the editorial board for prestigious publications such as the Journal of Hazardous Materials, Science of the Total Environment, Waste Disposal & Sustainable Energy, Biochar, Carbon Research, Environmental Sanitation Engineering, Journal of Ecology and Environment. She is also a member of the ISO/TC300 Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization, and vice chairman or member of more than 10 professional committees, such as the Solid Waste Branch of the Chinese Society of Environmental Science. Throughout her distinguished career, she has dedicated herself to advancing pollutant control technology and energy conversion in the comprehensive disposal and management of solid waste, and has presided over numerous demonstration projects and led multiple national and international research initiatives. Over the past 15 years, she has presided over 2 key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 6 general projects and international cooperation and exchange projects, and more than 20 national scientific research projects such as the National Key R&D Program and the 863 Program and so on. With a prolific academic output, she has authored over 100 papers in esteemed journals like Advanced Materials, including 2 ESI highly cited papers, 4 SCI cover papers, and published 2 monographs. She has outstanding achievements in academia, with over 20 national invention patents/international PCT patents, one successfully transferred patent, and two group standards written.
