Dezhen CHEN is Professor and director of the Institute of Thermal Energy and Environmental Engineering, Tongji University. She engaged in solid waste heat treatment and resource research for more than 20 years. She has been selected into the New Century Outstanding Talents support program of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Youth Science and Technology Star Program. She is the deputy editor of Waste Management (Elsevier), a member of the editorial board of Environmental Sanitation Engineering and Detritus, and a member of the Expert Committee of the Household Waste Management Special Committee of the Central Xixie Village. In solid waste pyrolysis, incineration, incineration flue gas purification, fly ash treatment and other aspects of the formation of proprietary technology, has obtained more than 40 related invention patents, including 4 international patents. Selected as the top 2% of the world's top scientists in 2023, the solid waste heat decomposition high-value technology developed by the National Innovation Center of the Yangtze River Delta investment transformation.
