Xubiao Luo is a professor and the Party Secretary of Jinggangshan University, the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Chief Scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program, and a Leading Talent in Science and Technology Innovation under the National "Ten Thousand Talents Program". He was selected as Highly Cited Researcher awards in 2021 and 2022. He serves as the Deputy Director of the First Committee of the Solid Waste Resource Utilization Professional Committee and a Director of the Chinese Association of Young Scientists and Technologists. His research focused on the recycling and resource utilization of spent batteries. In the past five years, and has published over 200 SCI papers in journals such as Nature, Nature Water, and Environmental Science & Technology, including 20 highly cited papers. He has authored four Chinese and English monographs and was invited by Elsevier to serve as the chief editor of one English monograph, and has been granted 87 invention patents (including 4 US patents). He has received numerous awards including the Second Prize of the National Invention Award, the Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the First Prize of the Jiangxi Province Invention Award, and the First Prize of the Science and Technology Award of the Nonferrous Metals Society of China.
