Ziyang Lou is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is deputy Director of Shanghai Solid Waste Treatment and Resource Utilization Engineering Research Center and Director of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences. He has graduated from Tongji University with a PhD degree. His research areas include controlling the odor of live waste, reducing and detoxifying hazardous waste, managing solid waste and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
He researches have received support from the German Humboldt Foundation, the European Union's "von Neumann" program, the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission's "Youth Science and Technology Rising Star Program (Class A)" and the Shanghai Education Commission and Shanghai Education Development Foundation's "Morning Light Program".
He has also won seven scientific and technological awards, including the National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize. He has Published over 100 scientific and technological papers in total and have been approved 19 invention technology patents. He has hosted 4 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
