Professor Zhan Lu, Ph.D., Director of the Department of Environmental Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, is a young top-notch talent under the National "Ten Thousand Talents Plan." His research focuses on: (1) solid waste resource utilization and heavy metal pollution prevention; (2) high-value resource utilization technology for electronic waste; and (3) polymer materials and halogen resource utilization. He has led projects including national key R&D programs, sub-projects under national major initiatives, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Shanghai International Science and Technology Cooperation Projects (Young Scientists of the Belt and Road). He has published over 70 papers in academic journals on environmental resources both domestically and internationally, with 13 authorized national invention patents. He has received the "2025 China Nonferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Award (First Prize)," as well as provincial and ministerial-level second and third prizes.
