Zhenming Xu is a professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is dedicated to the research on solid waste treatment and resource utilization, electronic waste recycling, and heavy metal pollution control. He has led more than 20 national-level research projects including the National 863 Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has been granted 27 patents for invention. He has also led the establishment of 10 industrial production lines. Currently, he serves as the executive deputy director of the Academic Committee of the Engineering Technology Research Center for the Recycling and Disposal of Electronic Waste and Electrical Appliances of the Ministry of Environmental Protection. He has published over 130 SCI papers, and has received the First Prize of Excellent Academic Achievements in Higher Education Research of the Ministry of Educationas well as the "Teaching and Educating Award" of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
