Li Ruyan Professor

Li Ruyan, Ph.D. in Engineering, is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Shanghai Polytechnic University, and a recognized Science and Technology Elite of Pudong, Shanghai.
With over thirty years of experience in fundamental research and engineering implementation of waste recycling, she is a co-founder of the National Engineering Research Center for Solid Waste Resource Utilization and the first undergraduate program in Renewable Resources Science and Engineering in China's engineering education. For an extended period, she has served as a principal leader for numerous national and provincial-level platforms, including the National Engineering Research Center for Solid Waste Resource Utilization, the Innovation Platform for Construction Waste Resource Utilization, and several National Demonstration Projects for Circular Economy and Resource Conservation. She has been honored as an Advanced Worker of the Engineering Research Centers by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and an Individual Pace-setter by the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party.
In recent years, she has led over 30 national, provincial, and ministerial scientific research projects, more than 30 enterprise-commissioned projects, and 3 major engineering projects. Her accolades include one Second Prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, and four provincial and ministerial-level awards. Alongside her scientific research, she is dedicated to industrialization and engineering application, achieving economic, environmental, and social benefits, and has made substantial contributions to the advancement of the industry.
