Yifei Sun Professor

Yifei Sun, Ph.D. of Kyoto University, executive dean and grade II professor at the school of Environmental Science and Engineering, Hainan University. She is the Yangtze River scholar, serves as the Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program of China, and leads the High-level Scientific and Technological Innovation Talent Team under the Ministry of Natural Resources. Her research program is focused on the fundamental theories and key technological in integrated solid wastes management and wastes-to-energy/resource recovery, having successfully spearheaded numerous engineering demonstrations. She serves as the Associate Editor of Waste Management, and ae well as the editorial boards of SCI journals, including JHM and Biochar. She is the member of the ISO/TC300 Technical Committee, and committee vice chair of the Solid Wastes Branch of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences and so on. She has presided over more than 20 national and provincial-level research initiatives, including the National Key R&D Program (focusing on "Key Technologies and Equipment for Circular Economy"), the Intergovernmental International Scientific and Technological Innovation Cooperation projects, and major programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Joint Fund. To date, she has published over 130 SCI-indexed papers, including Nature Commun., Adv. Mater., and Environ. Sci. Technol. Furthermore, she holds 20 granted or commercialized national invention patents, has disclosed 2 international PCT patents, and has authored 2 academic monographs.
