Li Zhen Associate Professor, Nanjing Agricultural University

Dr. Li Zhen’s research focuses on the transformation and cycling of minerals, heavy metals and related factors in soil systems, based on functional fungi.

He has received the First Prize in the National Micro-Lecture Competition for Agriculture and Forestry Majors and the Second Prize in the Provincial Young Teachers’ Teaching Competition. She is a member of the National Huang Danian Style Teaching Team.

To date, he has published 80 SCI papers as first or corresponding author in journals including Current Biology, Environmental Microbiology, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Journal of Applied Microbiology, and Geoderma. She has also contributed 4 invited chapters to international monographs and been granted 6 national invention patents (2 of which have been licensed for transfer).

She serves as Deputy Secretary-General of the International Fertilizer Science Center and Associate Editor of Soil Use and Management, the official journal of the British Society of Soil Science.

He has presided over the remediation of heavy metal-contaminated farmland covering more than 150,000 mu, and led the formulation and issuance of 6 relevant standards. She was awarded the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of Henan Province (2025, 5th out of 15 contributors) and twice led projects to win Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Achievement Awards.
