Professor Guangren Qian currently serves as Chair of the Solid Waste Committee of the Shanghai Society of Environmental Sciences and as a technical expert for the National Eco-Industrial Demonstration Park program. He is also a visiting professor at the University of Technology Sydney and Vice Dean of the School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering at Shanghai University. His research focuses on urban mining and industrial ecology, particularly the resource recovery and risk assessment of incineration fly ash and heavy metal sludge, as well as energy conversion of sludge and leachate. He has received multiple national and ministerial awards, published over 100 papers (including more than 80 SCI-indexed), and holds several patents. He has led the planning of numerous national eco-industrial parks, with projects such as Jinqiao and Zhangjiang recognized as benchmark cases after passing national evaluations.
