Li Dao Ji is a counselor of the Shanghai Municipal Government, a second-level professor at East China Normal University, the chief scientist of a national key research and development plan project, and an expert who enjoys special allowances from the State Council. Currently, he also serves as the chairman of the Shanghai Society of Oceanography and Limnology, the dean of the Plastics Recycling and Innovation Research Institute at East China Normal University, the director of the Regional Training and Research Center for Marine Plastic Waste and Microplastics of the UNESCO Marine Science Committee, and the chief scientist of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science Action Plan project "Controlling the Discharge of Plastic Waste from Asian Rivers into the Ocean" (UN22). He has also been appointed as a member of the International Scientific Committee of the OOS Scientific Conference at the Third United Nations Ocean Conference, responsible for the theme of global marine plastic pollution control, and organizing the formulation of relevant action plans and policy recommendations for the conference.
