Xu Ya, Researcher at Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Expert Committee on Hazardous Waste Identification, and Deputy Director of Gansu Key Laboratory for Industrial Waste Recycling and Regulation.
He is the chief compiler of numerous national standards, regulations and policy documents in the field of solid waste, including Standard for Pollution Control on Storage of General Industrial Solid Wastes, Standard for Pollution Control on Hazardous Waste Landfill, National Catalogue of Hazardous Wastes (2021 Edition) and Implementation Plan for Reforming the Supervision, Utilization and Disposal Capacity of Hazardous Wastes.
He has presided over more than 10 key projects and research topics such as national key R&D programs and National Natural Science Foundation projects, won 9 provincial and ministerial-level awards, published 130 academic papers and obtained over 40 patents. He has also led or participated in the formulation of 15 national, provincial and ministerial-level standards and policy documents.
