Zheng Yang, Senior Engineer, Director of the Hazardous Waste Management Technology Department, Solid Waste and Chemicals Management Technology Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. He is a leading professional talent in national ecological and environmental protection, Director of the 9th Council of Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences and Secretary-General of its Solid Waste Branch, Vice Chairman of the National Expert Committee on Hazardous Waste Identification, and expert of the technical support expert group for national pilot construction of zero-waste cities.
He has long been engaged in researches on resource utilization of solid wastes including hazardous wastes, as well as environmental management policies, laws and regulations, plans, standards, informatization and the implementation of international environmental conventions.
