Bing Deng is a Special Researcher, Ph.D. Supervisor, and Principal Investigator at Tsinghua University, and a recipient of a national high-level young talent program. As the project leader, he has undertaken more than ten research projects, including those under the National Key R&D Program of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Major Research Plan), and the Beijing Non-Consensus Innovation Program.
He has published over 70 papers, more than 30 of which as first or corresponding author in journals such as Nature Sustainability, Nature Chemical Engineering, Nature Communications, Nature Reviews Clean Technology, and Science Advances. He has filed or been granted more than 40 patents, with several achievements successfully translated into practical applications.
He serves as an editorial board member or early-career editorial board member for more than ten academic journals. His main research interests include solid waste valorization, recovery of critical metals, and high-value utilization of carbon-rich solid wastes such as plastics and rubber.
