Wei Liu, Postdoctoral Fellow and Assistant Researcher at the School of Environment, Tsinghua University, and a Visiting Scholar at Tohoku University, Japan. He is a member of the Circular Economy Branch of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, and the Sichuan Provincial Society of Industrial Economics. He serves as the Associate Editor of Cogent Economics & Finance, and a Youth Editorial Board member for Resources, Environment and Sustainability, Soft Science, Journal of Quantitative & Technical Economics, and the Journal of University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. His main research areas include urban mining and full life cycle management of solid waste; analysis of critical urban mineral resources and energy metabolism; low-carbon energy-economy coupling analysis; and carbon emission accounting and reduction assessment. He has led one National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Young Scientist Fund project (Category C) and one project funded by the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (General Program). He has also participated as a key member in over 20 projects, including National Key R&D Programs, National Major Research Programs, NSFC General Programs, international projects, and projects commissioned by national high-end think tanks. In recent years, he has published over 60 SCI/SSCI/EI/CSSCI-indexed academic papers in internationally renowned journals such as Resources, Conservation & Recycling, Applied Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, Environmental Impact Assessment Review, Journal of Environmental Management, and Energy Strategy Reviews. His Google Scholar profile shows over 800 citations and an H-index of 17. He has been granted 1 software copyright, 4 utility model patents, and 3 invention patents, with another 5 invention patents currently under review. In 2024, he received the Third Prize in the National Competition of the 10th National University Student Energy Economics Academic Creativity Competition.
