Xiaolong Song is a professor and Ph.D. supervisor at Shanghai Polytechnic University. He was selected into the Shanghai Oriental Talent Program and is currently serving as the vice president of the Shanghai Circular Economy Association, the expert in the Think Tank for Chemicals and Waste Environmental Management at the Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific & WEEE Technical Review Expert Database of Solid Waste and Chemical Management Technology Centre, Ministry of Ecology and Environment. He mainly engaged in research on waste recycling and low-carbon management. He has presided nearly 20 projects commissioned by the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Key Research and Development Plan sub-project, the National Key Laboratory Open Fund, and other provincial institutions. He has published more than 50 papers, including 30 papers as the first author or corresponding author. He has also applied for 11 patents, registered 3 software copyrights, formulated 5 standards, published 2 monographs, and won the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Award.
