Han Tong, Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) and recipient of the 2025 National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars (Overseas). He received his Ph.D. from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, and has nearly 10 years of research experience in biomass waste conversion, hydrogen production, and functional carbon materials. He has supervised nearly 20 master's and doctoral students and participated as a core member in over 10 EU and Swedish research and demonstration projects, establishing long-term collaborations with internationally renowned companies such as Elkem and Polestar. He has published over 20 SCI papers as first/corresponding author, including one in a Nature sub-journal and more than 10 in top-tier Q1 journals. He has filed five domestic and international patents and is actively engaged in promoting the industrialization and commercialization of research outcomes.
