Shenxu Bao, second-level professor/doctoral supervisor, national high-level talent, fellow of the royal society of chemistry, is currently the dean of the school of resources and environmental engineering, wuhan university of technology, deputy director of the key laboratory of green utilization of critical non-metallic mineral resources, ministry of education, and director of the industry laboratory of key non-metallic mineral materials development and application. He has been engaged in out-field enhanced hydrometallurgy, solid waste comprehensive utilization and other research directions for a long time. He was selected as the top 2% of the world's top scientists in 2024, and won the Hubei young scientific and technological innovation award, the young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Hubei province, and the innovative talent award of Chinese circular economy association. He has won six provincial and ministerial level first prize/gold award as the first consummated person, and also won two national science and technology awards and six other provincial and ministerial level awards as the principal consummated person. He has published more than two hundred academic papers, including eight ESI hot/highly cited papers, and authorized more than 80 invention patents. He is also the executive member of the council of Chinese non-metallic minerals industry association and the member of a council of Chinese non-ferrous metals society.
