Faqin DONG, a member of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), is a professor and doctoral supervisor at Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST). He previously served as the Party Committee Secretary and President of SWUST. He is currently the director of the Innovation Center of Nuclear Environmental Safety Technology and the director of the Key Laboratory of Solid Waste Treatment and Resource Recycle, Ministry of Education. He is a national candidate in the " ‌the New Century National Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand Talent Project ", the leader of a national teacher team in the style of Huang Danian in colleges and universities, a young and middle-aged expert with significant contributions at the ministerial level, and one of the top 2% of scientists worldwide. He has been engaged in scientific research and teaching in the fields of new pollutant control, environmental geology, environmental mineralogy, and ecological mineral materials for a long time. He has published over 200 papers in well-known domestic and international academic journals, edited 5 monographs, and holds 18 authorized invention patents. He has led more than 40 projects, including key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, international cooperation projects, key projects of the National High-Tech Research and Development Program (863 Program), topics of the National Basic Research Program (973 Program), and provincial and ministerial projects. His research and teaching achievements have won 24 awards, including national second prizes and first, second, and third prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels.
